Surfing Waves

Hi, Im looking for some advice on getting a new board. Ive been surfing a CI Flyer 2 for the last couple of years but have found it a bit limited in spots like Mexico when the swell gets larger or on hollow reef in Tahiti etc -- so Im looking for a second board that can handle situations like that. Im leaving on a surf trip in a few days so dont have time to get a board shaped but Im looking at some off the shelf options like the CI Tangent which sounds like a good all round board on paper. I tend to surf a lot on my front foot, and Im wondering how that shape would suit that style of surfing. If anyone has experience with the Tangent Id be interested to hear.
