Totally broken?

Postby Hoolio » Mon Oct 18, 2010 11:18 am

Hi - I got absolutely hammered by a monster wave at the weekend...when I surfaced my 9'1" McTavish Fireball was missing the front 4 ft...am gutted. It's a clean break and I've had a quote that it can be succesfully put back together for $250; don't have the cash for a new replacement so is it worth it or do I ship in a used board? Cheers - Hoolio

so sorry.
You can get good used long boards from $250 to $350, especially in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Santa Cruz. YOu'll find them on Craigslist. If you can go to $375, you'll have even more to choose from. I don't buy much new stuff. This is how I know.

Your board can be fixed. It may flex a little differently and/or be weighted a little differently. You may notice it and you might not. Even if you do, it's not going to be a huge difference. So, if you can really get it fixed for $250, that might be your most sure way to the cheapest cost.
