bttf,
is that on your new Florida Craiglslist surfboard? Mercy!
It's not so bad. It can be fixed in a jiffy in a not-too-pretty way or to barely-noticeable with a little more effort.

yeah billie, it is

ok, I'm assuming just some fiberglass cloth and resin...
but will it be ok to take her into the water with the ding anyway?
I just can't resist

bttf,
it can be fixed pretty easily. But, I wouldn't take it into the water until the board has been fixed to water-tight. Lots of water will get in through that hole. Then the board can be ruined or damaged in ways that will require even more fixing. Sorry, but that's the truth.

I recently had to fix a ding and found the youtube vids were great - just type it in there and there are loads of guides. I used any electric sander (you can just do it manually, it just takles more time) to get rid of any of the broken glass/loose bits and filled it with Solarez, on the bigger one I had to do it in 2 steps to allow some of the solarez to dry, sand it back a bit and then fill again. Then sanded back with 100 grit sandpaper until smooth - was well pleased with the results.
