Im trying to figure out what kind of wetsuit I should get for surfing in central california. San luis obispo mostly.

I was wondering if any one has had first hand exprience with a Psycho freaks in these temp waters. one thing that concerns me is the flexibilty because i have heard from several people that the freaks neoprem is not as flexiable than other oneill wetsuits such as a psycho 2.

The second thing ive heard is that the Freak 4/3 can be too uncomfortable for use around this area because a suit that warm is not needed and the extra thickness is a hindrance to its flexibilty.

ruble,
I spent my first three years suring in a 4/3. I was located in NorCAL, but often went to Santa Cruz and, even, San Luis O. About a year ago I bought a lined 3/2 and find it absolutely perfect for San Luis O south through Ventura. I'd looked at the O'neil suits you've mentioned and thought the 3/2 suit I bought was slightly more flexible. In addition to lining, it is a chest zip suit and the seams are all taped. I LOVE this suit (it's a Quiksilver Cypher like this, but with hollow-fill liner: https://surfing-waves.com/Item/DO318 ... _black.htm). It's super stretchy and chest zip suits keep you warmer than back zip suits.
