hi everybody !
i'm currently considering buying a new wetsuit but i'm not sure wich one to chose, between the billagong SG5 and the rip curl E-bomb wich one has the best durability and performance ?

if somebody could help me that would be great because I really have no idea wich one to chose.

I'd try them both on, fit varies between different brands of wetsuit, and a wetsuit that doesn't fit properly is useless no matter how expensive it was. Why did you pick those two? Are they what are available to you locally? What sort of conditions do you want it for? If they both fit equally well, I'd personally go for the Billabong. Ripcurls' quality doesn't seem to be great lately, whereas the SG5 has been getting great reports (and looks great but I wouldn't choose a wetsuit based on that ) Any other brands you can try?

hi, well i came to those two because there isn't much surfshops where I am and the only wetsuit i could try was the SG5, i could buy online but, buying a wetsuit without trying it on is a bit risky :p i was thinking about maybe buying a billabong foil too but i can't try one out.
i basically want my wetsuit for winter conditions here in the french riviera, a 4/3 wetsuit should be enough but i want a really warm and flexible wetsuit. i had good feedback about xcel westuits too but unfrtunately i don't have a surfshop around selling any of those.

I have an Xcel Infiniti 5/4/3 myself and they really are fantastic. The water gets pretty cold here in Ireland, and the Xcel is the best I've found. A friend has an O Neill Psycho 2 5/3 and he has to leave the water before I even start feeling cold. Their sizing chart is pretty bang on too but, as you say, buying off the internet has its' risks. I'm lucky enough to have a stockist within an hour of me here.

How was the fit of the SG5 on you? Really like the look of those suits myself, if it fits I'd say go for it. Here's a review if you like that sort of thing

well the fit of the SG5 was perfect, i was impressed how flexible this wetsuit is, and for the review i already read it, thanx anyways

I have a Billabong SG4 bro and it is perfect, keeps ya toastie and is really flexible too i love it. I surf in Dunedin NZ where the water gets down to around 6degrees C during winter and all i had was the 4/3 SG4, boots and hood (later end of winter ). My only gripe with it is the velcro neck thing sticks to the inside lining when you take it off and dry etc and wears it out a little but its only minor.

I've got the older style ebomb - the back zip with batwing rather than a chest zip - in my opinion it's great! Bloody warm, very flexible. I have got a rip curl bamboo thermal rash vest with it as well so I'm yet to get cold.....still doesn't help after the surf when you're getting changed and it's -5!!!!
