10.5" fin box installation

Postby Jack2007 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:09 am

Hi,

After routing out the hole for the fin box, cutting the cloth and dropping the box into the resin/cloth, What are the next steps?

I cant get my head around the cloth sticking up from the box. Do I trim it when it starts to gel? and if so where do I trim it to?

On various sites it says that there should be 2cm of cloth still protruding from the hole.

When sanding the fin box cloth back can I expect to be sanding into the weave to get it level?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

JACK

You don't need to use cloth on a fin box. Some people do others don't. Personally i use a mix of micro fibres and micro ballons.
