What type of FCS fins?

Postby ilovebeer » Fri Aug 07, 2009 5:38 pm

Hi,

What type of FCS fins should I use? I'm intermediate, 5'5" and ride a 6'11".
There are so many to choose from but dont really know which one to choose? They all do different things e.g. loosening up the board, what does this mean?

Any help would be greatful

Cheers

Looser board means it turns shaper/easier, it also means more wobbly for a begginer, Release means they glide into the wave easier, but not bite as hard, hold means they will not release as easy but will hold up higher in the pocket.

I'm 5'8" 200lbs, my favorite fins are GMB, they are the Mayhem fins for Lost boards. They have great release and are not that toed in, so you get super glide and easy drop into the wave. If you want to carve I like PC5's, stiffer so cuts harder.
