What board bag should I get?

I was walking out of my door with my surfboard in hand and the leash got caught on the door. The door swung back and hit my tail kind of hard. This resulted in 2 cracks

First (about an inch long):


Second (about 2 1/2 inches long):

The first one water could definately get in. So I sanded it down a little bit and put some Solarez on top of it. The second one the cracking was kind of beneath the last layer of fiber (or whatever it is). I couldn't feel anywhere that water could get in. But I put abit of Solarez on it anyways.

Do you think I did enough?

This incident taught me the hard way I need a boardbag . My board is a 6'2 Fish (well actually it sort of looks like a long shortboard wih a fish tail) thruster. Should I get a 6'4 bag so I have room for like a towel or something? What are some good ones for about 40-50 dollars?

So its a hybrid fish shape? Any shortboard day bag should fit it. I would probably go for a 6,2 bag because its annoying having excess bag or your board moving around in the bag too much imo. Even in a 6,2 bag you should have enough room to be able to fit a towel, wax, and other small stuff in the bag on the tail end where the fins are.

Yeah it is basically. Definately not a retro shape. 6'2 x 19.5 x 2.4

Yep, a 6,2 shortboard bag should do perfectly.

As long as you sealed them with something and there is no exposed foam youll be fine. I have a few small cracks on my retro fish just from dumb stuff like running the tip of it into the doorframe of my house and running the same tip into a telephone pole walking back from the beach... I haven't done anything to really repair them yet though because theyre not deep. I'll probably get around to sanding it down and applying some epoxy resin, but ive surfed on my board in that condition a few times now and its fine.
