NSP finbox damage

Hi, had a collision today which resulted in a broken fin and the fin box being damaged - its chipped, and theres room for water to get in around the fin box, but my question to anyone familiar with the NSP system / construction (7'2 funboard, eps core..) is: will that let water leak into the board? - when i peek in it almost looks like the box is in a slot in the board, where the outer layer of the board surface runs down along inside the fin box (if that makes any sense to anyone...), as if, you could take out the fin box altogether, and the board would still be watertight...
Any knowledge is greatly appreciated
Aaron

Can you get a photo of the damage and post it up on here?

i wanted to all right, dont have a camera down here unfortunetly, ill post it up if i manage to get one, a guy from nsp just got back to me and said its "nothing to get too concerned about, the board is still sealed", which it appears to be - i assume its possible that the board can be made so that it is sealed around the box? - that the fin boxes just slot in alongside the exterior board surface?
ill bring it to the surf shop tomorrow and see what they say
