Hi.

I have been surfing pretty good latley even if i do say so myself. I ride a 6'6 rocket fish what im finding is that i feel like i have to much board up front so want to go shorter. I spoke to my shaper he reckons i should keep roughly the same shape as i like the stability of the board and go for a quad fin set up. He said i could go shorter. So i saw the board stock in 5'11 19 an a half . i would be dropping down from 6'6 by 20 an half. Can anyone tell me what the draw backs will be? My shaper said it might be a big jump but only i would know wether i could paddle it or not. Well i reckon i could i have a good level of fitness, but surley there would be other draw backs. Has anyone done something similar? should i just go 6'2 and have a happy medium or go for it???? :?

Why not try rent some shorter boards and see how they feel?

Rent some different fish boards. If it is a good fish, you should be fine with the shorter board. More maneuverable and still like a fish.
