New Project--Logger

Hey everyone, I have been pretty transient with the site recently, been stuck in the mountains and not feeling very surfy these days. Also have been without any room to shape or build anything at all. Anyways all of these suppressed feelings is stoking a new project!!

I find it pretty vital to have a longboard on the east coast. 1-2' all summer, gotta have it. The only thing I have is a 8'6" tear drop from the 60s and a 8'6" that's on the wrong coast and I don't foresee getting it back any time soon, haha. (any of you west coasters coming over here by chance??)

So the new project, is a 9'6" x 23 13/16" x 2 13/16" longboard. Trying to keep it somewhat progressive with a 14 9/16" tail, squash, and a 18 13/16" nose for some nose ride-ability. Bottom shape is going to be a single concave under the nose and a double vee in the tail. Coming out of a 9'9" B US Blanks polyurethane blank, plans for about 3 1/2" of rocker front and back, but that might change a bit.

Fins, 10 1/2" box with two FCS side bites.

Here is my APS3000 draw up, what do ya'll think?

Good to be planning again, I have been going nuts not building anything at all.

Ace!

Just ordered myself a log at a local shaper, 96/23/3 slight concave, double stringer finished in red/orange.

Right on man, that should be a good'un. How are you doing the color scheme?

Double Stringer is in a V arrow from the tailblock to the nose, so the space between them will be orange. Rest wil be red but it has some glass work, knee panel, rails etc too which should add some subtle design.

tomcat,
is great you have the ability to make stuff like this. If we were on the same coast, I'd enlist you to complete the fiberglass canoe refurbishing project that I will never finish due to lack of free time. You'd make it look like new again, I'm sure.

Eh I dunno about that! Sounds like you have a cool project though.

I printed out the outline and put it all on paper and then taped the outline to the floor so I can cross-walk it in my bedroom, haha.

Haha, oh I will. When I get really landlocked feeling, I put Sprout on and then do it, hahahaha.

My room mate is even doing it now, haha.
