Nose guard and traction pad

I've got a short board and last summer both my nose tip and two of the strips on my tail pad came off. I don't think I applied them wrong, they've been on a few years now so it was probably just bad luck.
Does anyone know how to stick these back on? Which sort of adhesive should I use? I've got some UHU glue but I'm not sure it would be appropriate.
Thanks, Ben

Normally best to replace the tail pad with a new one. You can peel them off and then get rid of the old one, clean the board up properly and re apply a new one, they're fairly cheap. same with the nose cone, think theyre only cheap too

I could do but it just seems like a waste to buy new ones when I have them right here and all I need is an adhesive

Get new ones - you don't want them coming off again in good surf  !
They came off because the area on the surfboard where the pads were to be stuck was not prepared properly :? .
It must be absolutely clean and free of any wax, soap, polish :) .
You should spend a good half an hour carefully and firmly washing / wiping and washing again – boring but essential  .
Scrape and use a solvent to remove any gunge from the old pads before the wash if you need to :!: .

Absolutely clean = completely clean = perfectly free of any substance – don’t even breathe on it ! .
The adhesive pad needs to stick to the surfboard surface not to the stuff you left on there :| .
This care in the cleaning of the surface will allow the pads to stick to the surfboard for years – the pad should wear through before ever coming off :P .

Of course, you need to be really cautious putting the pads on such a clean surface – they go ‘schloop’ and they cannot be repositioned !

My $0.02 :blah:
