Hi
I've got 2 epoxy surfboards that bounced down the road when my bro rolled his van. The boards are surprisingly in one piece but have some large dinks that need filling. I know ideally I should use epoxy to repair them but I have fibreglass resin and catalyst. Can I get away with repairing them with fibreglass?
Thanks

The fiberglass cloth is the same, the difference is in the resin used.
If the damage goes through to the core (foam) using poly resin (regular surfboard resin) will eat the inside of the board away like acid in a bad B grade movie. Done properly small surface damage can be repaired with regular resin but this is a mechanical bond and considered less than optimal.
If you aren't an experienced repairer (and simply posting the question tells me you arent) the upshot is use epoxy.
Quick fixes can be done with the epoxies from most hardware stores. The "proper stuff" is most easily obtained from a boatbuilding shop or good surf/repair shop.
