Am going to send it back now its getting a bit to cold to wear,

Has any one else had any problems with these suits?

I heard they are the bees neeze but am not to impressed with mine! it extreamly comfy and warm but think the quility is a bit crXpy

I've got two Xcel suits. One is used heavily. The other not. I bought them slightly used from a Kite Board shop. These suits have held up well.

I'd send it back to Xcel mate, A few of my mates have Xcels one of theres had a similar problem with most of the tape coming off on the inside. I also spoke to someone on the beach in perranporth who's neck had stretched out loads. They still do look like nice suits tho. I am tempted between a Psychofreak or the top notch Xcel Infinity

Yeah, take it back to your nearest Xcel stockist and they should help sort it out. Xcel suits come with a lifetime guarantee on all seams so getting a replacement shouldn't be a problem. It's probably just a faulty suit as most of the guys up here use Xcel now and i've not heard many if any complaints.

Henry, one of my friends bought a Psychofreak last year and the seam at the base of the back started to come apart after about 10 times wearing it. My friend was pretty pissed as when he read the leaflet that came with the suit it wasn't covered by the guarantee.

I bought an Xcel Infinity 5mm X-Zip and had a list of problems. Here they are:

1. - The edge on the left side of the neck ripped after the 3rd session. Glued it up with Blackwitch - lasts a month or so and then I have to do it again.

2. - Same on the right side after the 10th session.

3. - Both the left and right Knee Panels ripped off coming away from the neoprene. Again, ongoing Blackwitch treatment.

4. - Inside, in between the legs area, the Fusion Seal tape came off allowing water to enter the wetsuit. Had to cut the bit off and reseal it with a new neoprene tape and just over one tube of Blackwitch.

5. - The seam at the bottom left leg split across the Fusion Seal tape and yes, good trusty Blackwitch once again! This one kept ripping so I just cut an inch off the length of the left leg.

The suit was carefully chosen regarding the size so the fit is not to blame ( Medium suit for a 5'10" (179cm) and 11st (70kg) guy. )

What did not help the matter is the fact that here in the UK there appears to be only one location available to repair the Xcel wetsuits under warranty and it takes around 3 weeks!

I am very disappointed after all the hype, but hey, perhaps I was unlucky to get a baddun!

On a positive side, the suit is wonderfully warm and impressively flexible.

I am only using it when the surf gets below 10 degrees C , otherwise a Psycho 2 which is considerably superior in quality.

i picked up a Cskins wired yesterday. i tried on that and a psycho 2. The Cskins suit couldnt have fit better if id painted it on so i went for that one. I was also a bit dissapointed with the psycho 2 because it seemed like the zen zip entry thing would have driven me crazy. overall im very happy with my choice.

Johno have you had yours out in the water yet?

Hee hee Gixer ye no wood but had loads of beer! ended up staying at a site so I could plug me 240 heater in, it was so cold at night.

take it you was there?

As for the suit it is sweet, flexible, very warm, fits good, not to difficult to get in and out of, good quality, so fare and wore with a C skins hood first time at the week end and hardly got flushed
