Calling all Shapers

Hi there,

Just joined the forum as I am looking around for a board shaper that lives near me in the Hampshire area.

I am just starting out in the custom painting/airbrushing world, and am now looking for a surfboard to paint. This seems like a good platform for my art, and also a fairly lucrative outlet! At the moment I've just been painting helmets, a guitar, a bike, etc. and want to move onto bigger things.
Was going to just buy a cheap, second hand board, paint it, and clearcoat it, but then having taken some advice, am now looking for someone who could supply a board, let me paint it, and then clearcoat it for me, as it would then be a lot more usuable given that it would be protected correctly, and not just be a 'showpiece'! Not wanting to 'blow my own trumpet', but I feel the finished product would be more than re-sellable!

Any help from this forum would be greatly received.

Thanks in advance

Clive

I do the build and airbrush thing and ultimatly a clearcoat sealing the art/graphix sucks!!! Better to have art done on the lamanate coat then covered with the sand coat followed with a polish coat next, Done. The least I do is art work on the sand coat and polish coat over it. If ya just clear coat it you'll end up having a very unhappy customer after a few uses, if it's a wall hanger clear coat is fine.

Thanks mate, points taken on board! :D

Just re-read my initial post, and just want to clear up that I'm ideally looking for someone (within a decent distance) who maybe makes their own boards, and is looking for some one-off paint work to be done, not necessarily a board from a larger company (although that would be nice!! :D). I have ideas in my head as to what design I want to put on a board, but am more than up for any other jobs!!!

I know this may sound a bit 'necky' of me, but if you don't ask.........

Well, it just so happens that Kitesufer is just about to make me a new board and I'm a bit lost for what I want on it artwork wise and you look like you're pretty hand at what you do.

You say you know what you'd like to put on a board so Pm me some of your thoughts and maybe we can get something going.
