Stringerless blank

Postby GHOPPER » Sat Aug 30, 2008 2:12 pm

I have a blank with no stringer in it. Will this work or do I have to put a stringer in it. Its going to be a 6'6" epoxy.

I think you need the stringer to add strength and 'flex' to the board.

You might be able to do one without one but i figure they are there for a reason and wouldnt be as good without. Wait till kitesurfer replys as he shapes boards and i dont...

You could make it a compsand board. Otherwise you would have to add a lot of glass.

People make stringerless boards all the time. You could try making your own parabolic stringers or cutting the blank in half and putting your own stringer in it.
But yes you could make it stringerless.

EPS? If it is, and you want a stringer, you can go ahead and cut three stringers to the final rocker, thickness, and foil, (plus like 1/8" for skinning) and then use a hotwire and skim the whole thing.

Check swaylocks resources.
