My ripcur classic winter wetey :( has unsealed at some of the seems so its now flushing more than it used to and for the first time in the sea in two years i got cold

so summer is nearly here so i was thinking of spending around the £200 mark on a sumer suit xcel or c skins and hopeing this would do for the winter as well wi maybe a thermel 1mm rash vest.

I dont feel the cold that much and was woundering if any one else weres a summer suit in 8 deg water or weather i would be better spending a £100 on a summer and £100 on a new winter

any advise would be much appreciated

It'll be just about do-able, as long as the air temperature is okay.

But it will be VERY cold

A good quality 3mm suit that fits well should be okay for shortish sessions if the sun is out. Give it another month, and then you'll be fine.

Hmmm, the evenings are getting a bit cooler now... wonder where I put my 2mm shortie?

I got myself a 4/3/2 this winter and I must say it is some of the best $480 I have ever spent.

i'd get a summer suit and winter suit, but if you have a summer suit already then just get a winter suit. my bro surfed up on the eastcoast 'till end of november in a 3/2 with boots and gloves and then said he couldn't surf much longer in that so had to buy a 6/5/4.

if cash is tight I would suggest getting a winter wettie and using it throughout the year....just open the back zip a little if you get too hot in summer. There should also be some winter wettie sales on soon.

I don't know about you guys but 3mm quicksilver is not good enough for me during those gnarly winter in socal(which is much warmer than the UK). I feel like I have to keep paddling just to keep my body temperature up and stay away from hypothermia.
