i have a spring suit.. and i go surfing during winter when water temperature is like 50 degrees... the only problem i seem to have is my feet.. they become really really numb and when i get out they feel like they are burning... and if i take a warm shower or something right afterwards.. they sting like crazy.. so.. i know it is probably because of the cold. would you recommend wearing the neoprene shoes while surfing?...
i dunno.. it kinda does get cold after you stay in there for 3 hours

TReMoR,
You simply need some booties. I like Billabong's split toe, 3mm. My wife likes Xcel round toe, 3mm. We surf in water all the time that is from 50F to 55F. The only time we get into water warmer than this when we travel very far.

I'm with isaluteyou. Southern California is cold for me during the winter. And yes, I am a wimp!
Just get some booties man, make sure they fit real tight. If they're loose, too much water will get in and you won't be warm and comfort anymore.

I would sugest both booties and a full suite. 50 degree water is to cold to be in a spring suite. I don't think I would last much more then a half an hour like that.
