That's what i think too. Just paddle to the maximum and get your shoulders and arms buffed up.

Haven't tried it yet but a friend of mine has a similar board and he says that it is way more manueverable without sacrificing too much paddle. Also he says it is way easier to duck dive on it.
I'm taking mine out tomorrow for the first time, I will tell you how it handles.

Brilliant. It is only 3" shorter but it feels way smaller. Turns waaaaay easier, but I actually felt more stable on it. Just as easy to paddle, if anything, with the pointed nose instead of a hybrid type it was easier to cut through the waves to paddle it out. It just felt really good. I know the extra thickness in the middle helped. It was easier to duck dive, but not alot. It is probably just because I suck at it.
All in all, I would definately recommend a similar style to someone who is looking at making the jump to a shortboard style, or to someone who wants a fun, "turny" board but has a touch of laziness in them. I was able to stay a little inside on it, wait for the wave to jack up a little more than usual, and make some fun drops on it, and pulling them out more than usual.
I am taking it out this week to Playa Hermosa, been having some head-and-a-half waves for the last 5 days, gonna try some larger stuff on it. Will take some pics of it and post them, along with the dimensions of the board.
