HELP!!! i cleaned my board with turps and now its bumpy!!

Postby twizlstikz » Sun Jan 06, 2008 9:29 am

i was trying to get the wax off so i could spray paint it and i read on a few websites that you could use turps to clean it and i tried a little bit and its made a bit of my board bumpy and when i look close there are tiny little cracks or something in the board. what can i do?!! i washed it off straight away with soap... will it eat into my board or make it leak?? im really scared!!

Don't worry. The turps didn't cause that. They are pressure dings from using the board, the only reason you didn't see them before is because of the wax covering them. Take some photo's and post them up just to be sure.

lol, you get pressure dings easily with a fiberglass board just from applying wax and use too much pressure when pop up, you won't get that problem with an epoxy board ;)

sorry my stupid brother has gone and lost the camera cable... they do look like pressure dents though. my friends old board had them. and i am quite out of practice at the moment and my knee kept whacking the board in around that area... i think you are right! thanks so much you have made me feel a whole lot better :)
