Robert August Surfboard FAKE!?!

So I'm been searching for my next longboard, and I found one on Craigslist. It's a BRAND NEW 9'1" Robert August Surfboard Dodger Kremmel model. Three weeks ago, the ad asked for $650, and now, it's asking for $500. It just sounds too good to be true because a brand new Dodger Kremel is worth $825 for the high performance, and $925 for the nose rider.

So my question, could this model be a fake copy of a Robert August? If so, how would I be able to tell if it's a fake? I've never seen one in person before. Thanks for the help everyone and happy new year!

If your in doubt its probably best not to buy it, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is...

regardless, $500 is a good deal for a brand new longboard. doesn't hurt to check it out.

Thanks for the help everyone! I emailed the company, and Sam August said it's authentic. So I'll make contact and check out the board. :D

I got another reply from Lisa at Robert August. She said to give her the serial number on the stringer, which she can use to trace the board. Just thought this information might be useful to others.

think all boards come with a stringer number, i remember somewhere it says it's for in case your board get stolen, etc. I'd say it would be a waste of time to make a fake board since at lot of efforts are required to put into making a board, at least I haven't came across a fake board before.
