Gul was my first wetty. I found it had little stretch and restricted my movement. I didnt like it much. I got loads of flush. I've got a Ripcurl now, just a classic and find its much better. I've had it for 12 months now and all the seams are still intacted plus its got loads of stretch and my freedom of movement is great.

the original one had a tear on a seam after only being in it a few times, turned out the liquid seam behind it was shot....common problem by all accounts.they did replace for another(different) suit though :D

My first suit was also a Gul. It was crap. That was a long time ago now and just recently I was looking at some online after getting an email from Gul and thought that they looked good.
Anyone have one of the latest Gul suits? are they any good?

How good a wetsuit is depends on how well it fits and which spec you go for, same with any wetsuit. Poverty spec ones don't have superstretch but tend to last longer because the rubber is tougher. Really stretchy (superstretch) rubber gives better movement, comfort and fit but is softer and more fragile. Visit a decent shop and you'll get help choosing spec and fit, buy online you might save a few quid but it probably won't be a marriage made in heaven.

Some suggest trying on in a shop then finding the same suit online. Firstly this is very bad karma on the shop. Ask them for a deal if you must, you could walk out with a new suit job done. Buy online, chances are that it's a previous lower spec model and by the time you paid postage or had the hassle/expense of exchanging suits by post you probably won't save a lot. You can tell the folks that bought their suits at a knock down price on the web, the crotch is usually hanging around their knees!
