hi,

Just got a 5/4 winter suit and tried it on. It fits perfectly, but is really hard to get on. It's a West nitro, and I have a 3/2 west nitro summer suit which slips on really easy. Just wondering are all the thicker suits hard to get on?

Thanks KS...I laughed at my girlfriend last week when she took so long putting on her winter suit (she's only got 1 suit) when I slipped into my 3/2 in 2 mins...she was laughing at me last night!!

Keep your socks on, or put plastic bags on your feet, it makes it loads easier to get on.

is it front zip or back zip?

Back zip...i'll try the socks/bags trick in Oct/Nov when it gets cold enought to use it.

socks is a good one - especially if you keep them on under your boots, because when it's time to get the suit off (even harder than putting it on) then at least it'll come over your feet a bit easier, before the dreaded cramp sets in!!

my winter suit is very difficult to get on and off, for some reason my new summer suit was even worse.....despite being the same make and size

It's important to figure out how to get a winter suit off real quick, there's nothing worse than having it stuck round your ankles with freezing cold wind gusting up your towel.

I fell over once taking my suit off, ended up sticking my naked arse hard against the window of the car next to me. When I turned around, there was a little old lady sat in the passenger seat, looking really grossed out. She must have had a full up close and personal view of my ring pressed against her window. I apologised, but she wouldn't look at me, and just ignored me.

I've often wondered if getting some zippers put into the bottom of the legs would make much difference to how well the suit works. It would make it loads easier to get out of.

I seen some one geting changed in the car park in a dressing gown? thought it was a good idea but havent tryed it yet

Aye, the tricky bit is gettin yer suit off!

My tip would be to sit down while get the suit from round yer ankles or you may end up on yer face in the car park (or wherever). Although watch for passers-by cos they might get a glimpse up yer towel (poor them!).

I was once surfing in December and without gloves. I got out of the water and it was getting dark already, I went to get changed but the combination of the darkness and completely numb hands made it impossible to change. So I just put my trousers and hoody on over my suit and got the train home like that (boots still on n all!).

I got a few funny looks on the train as a rather large puddle formed around my ankles!

What we do in winter sometimes cause it can be too cold to get changed outside is a quick towel wipe of the drips on our wetsuit, and we buy a whole pile of them cheap plastic seat covers that you get in your car after it's been at the garage, then we simply drive home like that. Quite often when we know there's waves we also get changed at the house before driving anything from 2 to 30miles to get to the surf spot!

i used to do that after i accidentally dropped my towel in front of these old people. oman, i haven't tried 5/4's yet, but i know 4/3's are a PITA to take off.

Well i've now got an o'neill psycho 2 wetsuit, and it is pretty good, but an absolute nightmare to get on and off but as has been said before,must be a sign of how warm it is, it's 5/4 but i still find that if i'm hanging about a bit too long inbetween sets that i can end up getting chilly! When there's plenty of sets then it's absolutely fine. Winter aint for another 6 weeks or so either!

eye, i love the psycho 2, i might get the 08 model, but i'm torn between that or the new xcel infinity, because i loved my old psycho and thought it was pretty warm, although i prefer chest zip suits, so not really sure what to get
