It needs AC power dude, so it's not much use for campers, only people with vans or who live by the sea.

But, if you're in a van, do you really want the noise of the fan going all night while you're trying to sleep? Or draining your battery? (Although I'm guessing I'm probably wrong on that one and campers have really big batteries) And if you live by the sea, stick your wettie in the airing cupboard on a suit hanger.

One point I'm curious on, and I'm hoping I'll be impressed by, how exactly does it "eliminate odour" or "wetsuit funk" simply by drying it with a fan?

Wrong - it runs on 12v DC power - the mains adapter converts it to AC. A 12v lead doesn't come with it (sorry - we have tried to chase this up with the manufacturer) but would be easy to source from the likes of Maplin.

Edit - sorry by 'campers' - did you mean those just in a tent?? If so, then I'm guessing you haven't got a leccy hookup either???

But, if you're in a van, do you really want the noise of the fan going all night while you're trying to sleep?

2 speed fan - admittedly, high speed is quite noisey, but not unbearable by any means - certainly no worse than rain on a van or tent roof.

Or draining your battery?

It pulls 1 amp - meaning a fairly standard 45 AH (amp hour) car battery will keep it running for nearly two days .......... a leisure battery (normally 80+ AH) will keep it going considerably longer.

If you leave something damp for long enough, it'll stink. The quicker you dry it, the less chance of the water stagnating and starting to smell.

If you have any further questions, by all means ask

Nice one. That did settle my questions, and by campers I did mean tents! Although I would say that the hangair website specifically states AC.

hi just wondering if these are still avaible

Postby stampee » Tue Oct 02, 2007 7:02 am

Just wondering if there still for sale :?: and has anyone any feedback on them, I have seen them in salt rock but The thing that put me off about these was the fact they were mains and not 12v but if the motor is 12v then it will be easy to change an wire to run of both. I spend my surf time like most in a van so being able to plug it into a cigarette lighter is a must. :)

They work off 12v DC - the mains plug is also the adapter that runs them off 240v. I'm sure you'll be able to get a 12v lead easy enough, but despite many times of asking, we can't seem to get one off either the manufacturer or Saltrock (our supplier)

However - you'll note that we've decided to get rid of our last few remaining Hangairs for £29.99 on E Bay - so grab yourselves a bargain - but be quick, these really ARE our last few remaining stock.....
