hehehe I'm gonna get severely paid out on this... I surf a full length in australia all year round. Just lately (late summer) the water's been a comfy 23C (71F)... but I'm thin, lankey and tall, so I get cold easy, plus I stay in the water for around 1 or 2 hours at a time, every day

 i guess its a good thing i have a little extra "padding" of my own so i dont get cold as easy :D ive been using a 3/2 full lately and been plenty warm.

Seems like a stupid question, i know, but i'm just trying to decide if i should hold out on buying a full body suit and wait a month or so and buy a cheaper spring suit and be set until next fall/winter for the full suit.

I know San Diego water temps are beginning to creep back up. What temp is good for a spring suit? 65 degrees? I was fine last year in (i think) ~68 degree water temps with just board shorts in early October.

if the waters under 70 degrees i use a full suit unless, its like 80-90F outside, then ill use boardshorts and a jacket (neoprene top) 70-75 also depends on weather, if its hot outside ill just skin it but if its windy/cold ill use a neoprene top anything above 75 is skin

A bunch of Marys, the lot of you.

Once it's over 64, the suit comes off and boardshorts are it. Maybe a 1-2 mil top if there's a chilly wind.

As for spring suits.. they're good for places where the water hangs around 59-63 for a long period of time. Otherwise, I just go full suit or commando.
