I've got the XCel 5mm Infinity split toe...and they rock.

No problems with staying warm and I feel like I have more control with the split toe.

Got them half way through last winter and they are toasty warm, and whilst they are thick the actual rubber sole bit is pretty thin and supple so you can feel things very well.

To make cool footprints :D !

...erm and to get better balance and grip by being able to spread your feet out more as if you had bare feet, but the trade off is they are slightly colder.

Surf Booties ? Nah !!

Postby CutBack » Wed Dec 27, 2006 4:11 pm

:( Don't wear them. They're all uncomfortable and they'll cramp your style. The only "booties" I shake are my girlfriends. :)

id rather be slightly uncomfortable (or drinking guinness) than have my feet go blue from cold, or have them swell up like they normally do when i get out and they warm back up!

C-skins split toe, i find round toe boots to loose and my feet feel like the boot is slipping round on my foot. Don`t get this problem with split toes.

I saw a pair on some website recently which have split toes on the inside, but look like regular boots on the outside. Dunno where I saw 'em tho!

I tried a pair of those on awhile back. I am pretty sure they were Oneil's. I would have bought those but where the split came back was to far. It dug in between my big toe and the next toe. I really liked those except for that.

XCel's got something like that. Split-toe, but the sole is all one piece.
