Postby Johno » Mon Sep 10, 2007 12:36 pm

How do i go about positioning and fixing deck grip,

I,ve got a epoxy board says on the instructions to use acetone to
de-grease, is this safe? can i use white spirite?

What sort of postion should i put it? with the nucke close to the leash fixing hole?

Acetone is safe to use. You can use white spirit, but this leaves a residue behind that you'll need to scrub off.

Its also a good idea to use a bit of sandpaper and gently roughen the glossy surface before you stick the grip on. Also, some of them recommend warming the area that you'll be sticking the pad to with a hair drier.

Then stick it on, and best to leave it somewhere warm for a day or two to let it really bond properly.

As for positioning (you are talking about a tail pad rather than a full deck grip?), it would usually go as far back as possible so right next to the leash plug.
