Transporting a foamie back home

Postby Larkim » Wed Aug 14, 2019 8:05 pm

Son has picked up a cheap foamie whilst on holiday with the potential to either get it home or ditch it (it was cheap!)

Our car has roof bars but we've already got a roof box and two bikes on there, and there isn't enough clearance to get the board underneath the rack to strap it there.

Was thinking perhaps of taking the pedals off one of the bikes and strapping the board vertically to the rack abs the bike rack simultaneously.

Anyone done this - might it work ok as a one off? Or have any better ideas? No space on the roof for a dedicated board rack, so if we have to ditch the board that is a potential option, but I'd rather try to get it home of possible.

I don't think that is a great idea if you're going to be driving on the highway. If it comes off then that might be an expensive insurance claim or it could hurt someone.

Is it possible to strap it to the roof box?

Maybe someone else have done it here, but I don't have a bike rack so I can't picture that in my head.
