huge dent repair

As you see in the photo attached there is a huge dent at the bottom of the surfboard's nose. This was created by hitting the rail of another surfboard when we crashed I took it to a professional shaper in Bali and he told me that it is better not to repair it because it will gain more weight on one side of the board and it will affect the performance of the board. I was thinking that this dent will also affect the waterflow of the bottom channel of the board and maybe this is even worst. They also told me that there is a way to repair it with very light materials based on microfibers. I am confused.
Any opinions?
To be honest, i hate to see my board like this I prefer to fix it and paint it.

If your newly designed nose channel is effecting water flow its to late , you've already pearled.
Ugly but I'd leave a battle scar!

What are the dimensions of that board? How good of a surfer are you? If that is a long enough board and you are a beginner then you could get the entire nose beefed up so that one side isn't too much heavier or even just get it repaired and you likely won't notice any unbalanced issues. But if the shaper said it's good like that I would probably just go with his word on that.

Customers bring in those type of pressure dings all the time. If it's water tight, leave it alone. Like others have said, if it was further back, it might affect the performance characteristics more. If it looks ugly to you and you wanted to repair and cover it with a sticker, just cover it now as is with a large sticker.

It happen more than once where we couldn't convince the customers NOT to repair the pressure, and he paid for the repair just to get the same type of ding the following week.

You maybe confused with the terminology or what they said. They should be talking about MICRO BALLOONS ( or micro spheres )

theseas, if it was my board, then I'd fix it because a dent like that visually bugs me. If water tight, then I'd apply Q cell (micro spheres) mixed in resin. IF not water tight, then I'd apply a thin coat of resin onto surface before applying Q cell. The Q cell straight from the container is very fine and goes airborne with little agitation. Do NOT breath it. Like some mined ores, concrete dust, ground glass, you can get silicosis breathing this stuff into your lungs.

After adequate Q cell is in place and smoothed, then top off with one coat of mixed resin.

Will you notice the added material during surfing. Most likely not.
