fins for a quad fish

Postby Mohawk918 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 1:41 pm

Im getting a custome 7'10 fish made for me. I don't know much about fins so wondering what yall would suggest. Im here in St Augustine, Florida and so I get small mushy stuff. So what fins should I get? I want to not spend a lot of money so the less the better.

You have a few options on aftermarket fins that shouldn't cost you too much, main thing would be to determine what size fins you need/want and go from there. Also, ask your shaper straight up what he/she recommends would be a good fin set to use.

If you haven't done so, also take a look at Jaffa's fin primer, lots of good info on there.

Why ( or how ) can you order a "custom" board which is made to your specification when you don't know or don't understand what certain designs of the board and what different fins effect the performance ?
If you want to save money, stay with the "plastic" stock fins , like the FCS glass flex or the Futures Fins composite line. No need for the honey-comb carbon fiber stuff.
What fins did you use on your Thruster set up ? That will sorta help determine what quad you can go with.
