New Surfboard need help

Postby bloody larrikin » Fri Mar 04, 2016 11:54 am

Hey guys been surfing for a while now and just moving on from my 7'6 mini mal to a fish surfboard. Still quite naive on how much i should be spending on a new surfboard and what to look out for in terms of the quality and durability.

At the moment I'm looking at these two:

http://www.findsports.com.au/p/force-70 ... INDSFRECO3

http://www.findsports.com.au/p/find-70- ... FINDSRFD03

was wondering if anyone knows anything about the brand whether they are reputable and whether the boards are worth the money. Also is the ecoflex worth the extra $70

Thanks guys

Why not buy second hand? I don't know what your level is, but if you are a relative beginner, secondhand purchases will allow you to test what works and what doesn't, what size, shape, displacement (liters), rocker, etc works, and once you're done and ready for something new you can sell again most likely for something near to the price you paid. If that is a choice in your area I'd look used before new.

Yeah i have looked around for used surfboards on gumtree etc but a lot of the boards are surprisingly expensive even for used and the ones that are cheap have got more dings than my old cricket bat. In saying that i will continue to look for more second hand boards cheers mate

The more important questions are:
What is your skill level on your current board?
Does a mountain based firm (dandenongs victoria) really know its surfboards? generic pop out by the look!
Nothing wrong with a pop out Chinese board as a learning board, but will it fulfill your needs?
What is your real, experience level ?
Height and weight?
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
