Reparing epoxy boards

Postby Lusi » Sun Jan 10, 2016 7:08 pm

I recently bought my 2nd board, and im really concerned about durability i learned to surf and still own the 7'3'' bic minimal a real warship surfboard :D . This new board looks so light and fragile that im afraid of taking her out lol. The conditions have been a bit stormy but maybe this next week will get better to try it out for the 1st time. I spotted some kind of damage in the board looks like a outer layer of resin fell out. I will take care of this board like a baby, just asking opinion if i should use something to repair it, or when i need to repair what should i use? I've been searching and only found out about solarez epoxy.

Should just be the cheater coat they sprayed on. Just put a tiny sticker over it. If you wet sand it or brillo pad it, you might just make it grow out further. You can "fix" it when you're repairing the tips of the tails, which are bound to happen. Looks like not much glass on the edges.

Now I am not totally familiar with all the varieties of Solarez but there are polyester versions that will dissolve the foam generally used for epoxy boards but the epoxy version as you picture above should be fine.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
