Easy as really.
There is no fin box, it is a fixed fin that needs fixing let a shop do that! That is the most expensive job.
The board is worth repairing as your first board. There is some water damage (the brown and discoloured areas and there may be more shatters and hairline damage to the rails which you will find around the brown areas.
How much is the board worth = ???? A local board shop will do the repair , the where depends on where you are, some where nearby, most likely but you haven't said where you are!
Worth repairing = yes!![]()
Asa beater learner it will be just right , catch anything , good to lern basic skills and even learn basic repairs all good.

jaffa1949 wrote:Water damage means water has soaked into the foam, the board will heavier than without the damage, but not noticeable for a learner. where the resin and glass coating on the board is intact it just looks like a clear surface. where there is cracks or damage they are visible of maybe only seen by the brown discolouration. Most cracks are on the most heavily impacted areas the rails, simple thumb rule "if you can flick it or click it " with a fingernail then a fix is needed! Often a simple smear of solar res across the crack is enough (just sand the area before smearing and sand after to give a smooth finish so you don't abrade your legs)
The fin needs to be reset in its correct position with no deviation from the centre line and no lean. Usually fix fins are taped into place and correct alignment with masking tape strapping to the rails leaving the base free to place a mixture of fibreglass rovings ( threads) and liquid polyester resin with the right amount of hardener mixed (Different from the sun cure stuff)
Too much hardener causes brittleness or worse still the risk of chemical fire. Hence the recommendation to get a shop job done on it. It is still doable for a first timer just look up fin repairs. You could also get a shop to cut off the fin and install a box more costly but gives you choice of fins This might not be a possibility if the foam around the fin area is water damaged.
all.
Any other water damage you just live with.
have fun discovering what all the frothing is about
