Transitioning to a shorter board

Postby phoneyherostuff » Tue Apr 03, 2012 11:05 pm

Been riding a 6'8x20''x2.5'' single fin hybrid. I've able to get up on most waves and get down the line just fine. But now I feel like I'm ready to get into the short board game. I've heard a few suggestions about some sort of fish. Just wondering what some other good options are. Oh and I'm 6'1 170 lbs and I usually surf beach breaks in SD like Pacific Beach and La Jolla shores.

At the size and weight you are and the board you describe you should be able to do a lot more than what you are describing before you go shorter the only thing I would change is to go to a thruster configuration board and see if that aids improvement.
BTW 6'8" can be a short board and a single fin hybrid. Is it old, fairly new?
Well, post a picture.
