I would stick to the mini mal till you get to the point where you can pop up and surf the open face and do some turns. If you really want to get a board now. I would suggest a longboard as it will help you progress faster they are wider and more stable, and easier to catch waves with.

Hey iAmMolly,
it's obvious. You need a board that has a steering wheel!

I have no idea if this is an intermediate board or an advanced beginner as i havent researched into it yet...

thats not quite the way to go...
usually ppl do the research themselves... and if then still question are open, they go ask..

or will you ask other ppl to push you into waves because you havent researched how to paddle yet... ?

the net is flooded with good sites, with a lot of info, with a lot of hints...
your question has been asked a gazillion of times before...
such an attitude will bring you only friction, wherever you will go...

no offense, but you cant turn, you cant pop up, you cant surf...
but you WANT a 6.8 board...?
