Postby helmo645 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:00 am

Hey all,

Done a tiny bit of surfing lessons before and thats about it, nothing more than standing up though and thats not always guaranteed :D

Anyway im an 19 year old australian weigh about 70kb and 6ft tall,

Extremely confused about what type and size to get :s hoping to use it weekly so dunno if I would progress much but ehhh

I would start out on a longboard if you want to progress quickly. Longboards are bigger, and more stable and therefore easier to learn on. You could learn on a mini mal, but it will be more difficult.

Good luck!

I learnt on an 8ft minimal. Bilbo Torpedo. excellent board for me. you could always get a cheapy BIC board second hand. maybe an 8ft2 or 8ft4 and then sell it for about the same price you paid and then get yourself a more advanced board like a minimal.

regards,

Tj
