Hi All,
I am a relative beginner, based in the UK. I currently ride a longboard and can catch waves and get to my feet without to much trouble. I am just starting to learn turns but am not yet quite at the stage of riding along the wave. I'm going everything I can to pick up my paddle fitness but due to the fact that my local wave is a messy beach break i am finding it really hard to battle through on my longboard and I am contemplating a new shorter board but one that still has the volume so that catching waves is not too tough.
I am travelling to Bali in July for my honeymoon and intend to get as much surf time in as possible and really want to push my progression on so I am contemplating whether I can find a board that can do me well in both the UK and Bali.
I am 5'10 and 13 stone with a fairly good lavel of fitness and my local surf shop has suggested a 6'6" Black and White Quad Fish, a UK made board, as something that I should be able to ride not but also progress on.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether this might be a good option or does anyone have any other advice on what may be a suitable board? I am super excited about really learning to surf properly and am fully bitten by the bug but I want to make sure I buy the right hardware as money is an issue.
Any thoughts and help would be greatfully received and thanks in advance.
