Hey,
I am about to shape my first board and have a few questions on painting it.
It will be a basic design as its my first.
What I thought I would do is:
Spray an acrylic paint directly on to the foam, glass over, Pinline using POSCA pens on the sand coat and then gloss coat.
What I want to know is,
If I paint directly on the foam do you think I will need to spray a lacquer over the paint before glassing? ( I will be testing it on a scrap piece first but would like to know beforehand if I am likely to.)
What sort of finish would I get if I were to brush the paint on? Would the glassing cover up the strokes or I suppose I could use a roller.
Again, after pinlining, I will lightly sand the lines down but do these usually need a lacquer over them? (Could I use acrylic straight from the tube with a fine paint brush?)If anyone has any suggestions on whats the best method of Pin-lining would be appreciated.
Thanks again,
JACK
