Weird Longboard

Hey guys,
Not sure how weird this, but i've never seen one like this until yesterday. Hard to describe, but it seems like the board is more of a wood outline/skeleton, and then just the top is a thin layer of laminate/glaze/poly-whatever on the surface. Think kind of something like a sled, with a thin laminate top? Does anyone know what it is i'm talking about?
