what board should I get?

Postby HotDogNW » Sun Feb 17, 2008 10:06 pm

So I live in Oregon and will surf there mostly, I'm 6' 195lbs. and I'm a begginning but decent surfer. What kind of board should I get that would best suit the surfing conditions of Oregon? I would prefer something that is an all around good board that I can use in varying surf conditions. I travel to San Diego/Southern CA (late summer) and Maui (Dec/Jan) each about once a year for a few weeks at a time so I would prefer something that I can take there and surf. Thanks for your help!

I've been borrowing a buddies longboard, like 9' 5'', I'm begginer as in I've been at it for about 3 months now, and I'm not riding big open faces, never surfed over 4 or 5 footers

I'm from Portland but I pretty much lived in Seaside/Gearheart during the summer when I was a kid. And ya, the water is really cold, u gotta wear a wetsuit w full coverage, unless your a badass or like hypothermia. There are some other good spots near it, just check out oregonsurf.com, it talks about some of the more popular spots.
