Millennial Surfboards

Postby mmcurlydastooge » Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:37 am

In regard to Millenial Longboards... I picked a 9'4" about a month ago and have used it a couple of times... No complaints at all... Very stable and easy to stand up on it... Even (or especially) for an old guy like me...
I have been out at Santa Cruz, CA a couple of times and the board works like a charm... Haven't had any issues with quality... Also, the folks there were very friendly and accommodating in regard to pickup of board rather than having it shipped...

Kinda tough idea to grasp coming from a skating background, due to virtually no custom skateboard makers, considering they are all pretty much the same except the graphics. They're all maple, they all are glued up in essentially the same press, they all are pretty much the same. Therefore, there is really no money in a local skateboard maker. However, there is still some money in a surfboard for a local shaper, but that's slowly getting worse.

Get a board built for you, for your waves, and you won't regret it. I say you should go with a funboard, unless you think you are completely past that level. You can do a ton with a funboard.

What are your waves like? Describe your surfing level.

Actually skateboards are really alot different from eachother (although not as much as surfboards, every surfboard is different, but you can get the same model of skateboard, but only from one batch), there are alot of variables, concave, hight of tail and nose, size of tail and nose, age of maple used (affects the feel of the board, the pop, how long it will last, ect.), moisture content, and tons more, they just look alot alike, and it doesn't come in one purely unique board, but one unique batch of boards.
