Surfing Waves

i must have such a crummy computer......because whenever someone posts a picture.......i can never see it!!

Am i being a right spaz and missing the obvious like not clicking on them or something??? How do you get to see them cause all i get is a silly red cross in a box!!

Id be interested to know if anyone else has a problem.
One possible cause is if you use firefox and you have set it up to not view pictures from other websites - take a look here

Tools > Options > Web Features

and make sure that 'Load Pictures from original website only' is not ticked.

im on firefox nd dont have a prob' !

Do they not load or end up being a small box with a red X in them?

If so just double check its not cause of timing out whilst loading by right clicking over them then clicking "Show Picture"

It might have some weird thing to do with the images being hosted on another server and only being allowed to view on this site. It's a problem I would be keen to sort out if there if its with the site.
Also try pasting the image location straight into your address bar and seing if you can view it.

It should only be a problem if you've ticked the from the originating website only selection.

I sometimes cant see pictures and its to do with the server...

If someone uploads a pic to the site, then its usually fine, but if someone pastes a link to one of the picture hosting sites (which should automatically load and display the picture) then I sometimes cant see them

I know why though - Im routing through a server at work thats got a fun-filter to stop people mucking about all day on the net at work (it doesnt work - I can still see surfing waves, and if I want to look at anything else I disconnect and go through the phone socket). The fun-filter is turned off at 5pm, and after that I can see the pictures fine

So, jennie, are you looking at SW when you're supposed to be working?
