the thrill in small days

Postby Beachbum » Wed Aug 22, 2007 6:08 am

I recently had my birthday at a local spot and I brought my 7'4" with me along with my recently new 6'1" shortboard. It was a small day around 2ft and I wasn't getting any good rides on my shortboard so later on in the day when my friends came I decided to bring out my 7'4" and I was glad I did.

I cant believe how I was able to sit way farther back then all the shortboaders and catching the waves all the way to shore. I felt pretty good since I was able to do some roundhouse cutbacks on the board which seemed more drawn out since everytime I tried on my shortboard I would fall after doing it. Should I stick to riding my funboard more often since I am not sure its a Costo Gotcha board. Will riding my funboard help me to improve on a shortboard?

every surf session is good experience regardless of equipment used  But i found my mal more of a hinderance than an advantage as if i spend too long on it i tend to get lazy and lose some of my snap  But then again it might just be me
