tube riding

i was just thinking about tube riding on a longboard and wondering if it would be easyer or harder than on a shortboard? beacause you could pump easyer to keep up with the lip, but you would be munevering a much bigger board inside, i didnt know so i thought id ask you guys

it also kinda depends on the wave, some break fast and some break slow..so it's a matter of the type of wave, imo

its nto so much the board but the rider and wave. Seen plenty of loggers get shacked

On a longboard you have to position yourself perfect before it peels over you. Once your inside you cant do much moving 'cos if you do....WHAM. But getting barreled on a longboard is pretty cool.

Here are some shots of a local St. Augustine guy getting barreled in Indo on a longboard. On the second page he tells how he had the board shaped just for steep hollow waves. Dudes been surfing for close to 30 years too. Has his own business, and gets to take time off, and surf anywhere he wants. They have a house in Costa too.

That's one big dude! I wouldn't want to drop-in on him by accident (certainly wouldn't do it on purpose).
