Standup paddling question

I am looking to enter into the world of standup paddling in the Puget Sound area and would like to know what type of board would be best, and hopefully reasonably priced. Can I use an older windsurfing board or a 12'+ longboard? I will not be surfing it, just using it for fitness on the bay and lakes.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Chris

As long as it can float you good it will be fine. If it's not for surfing it won't really matter if it's a windsurfer or big longboard.

contact the guys at www.offdalip.com they have all the hookup you can possible need.

If you;re not gogin to use it for surfing the cheapest way you can go is to get one of those big ass blue beginner boards...but it will be like paddeling a tank compared to a proper standup board...

miami surfer, have you tried paddling a wind surfing board? i doubt it, the windsurf board is completely different than a real surfboard, and as for surfing, forget it. this summer i'm going to try paddling a real surfboard and i will get back with you on the results

you could probably do it with an 11ft+ board
