Just a quick note to check in... doing real well on my long board ever since I stopped dropping my darn knee... I'm actually ready to move onto something a bit more high performance which is VERY exciting for me! I left a reco thread under hardware, but any thoughts here are appreciated too!

i know it doesnt sound like a next step, but my 9' bic classic is amazing, the stuff that i can pull off is bl**dy good for a bic, i was talking to my local surf shop guy and he was saying that the bic iv got and the southpoint that bonga perkins road at pipe are two of the best high performance boards that arnt cusotom made, try and rent one out and give it a go, they rule. also because they'v got a concave at the front you can noesride ocasionaly, and the rails are chipped so you can do some huge bottom turns.

As a follow up, I ended up getting a 9'6" Surftech Infinity Cluster model from the shape shop itself down in Dana Point! Took the board out that day (with a fresh coat of wax) in O.C. and have been really in love ever since. It's such a unique board. The rails are surprisingly hard and take some getting used to ... but it's sure a wave catcher!
Good luck!
