with http://www.boardridersguide.co.uk/acata ... y_Fin.html that fin on it, i know its not a noes riding fin but it still has a wide ish tip and some rake.

also im 10.8 stone

now i hope that helps you to answer my real question. i can ocasionaly get upto the noes and hold it but not all the time, most of the time i get up there go to put my toes over the edge and i just stall, not sink stall. i thnik i cross step but i cant realy be sure, i just know i can get up to the noes.

iv never been told or shown how to noes ride or even longboard iv just been guessing, most of the time i stay away from it and just do performance stuff, but i need to learn how to noes ride. anyone got any help???

please, dont let me of written alll this for nothing.

When you start to stall, you have to do something to keep it from stalling - weight change on the front, or step back to change the center again and regain some speed.

The 9 footer probably won't give you much past hanging 5 unless you can get some speed and serious soul arch going.

I reckon RR is on the money - stalling tells you that you have to do something to recover from the stall. And a 9'0" will probably give some problems getting a 10 unless it's specifically designed for noseriding (e.g., very round rails). A crumbling peeler is better than a hollow wave, too.

Most really good noseriders take off at an angle, bottom turn, setup in the curl and crossstep to the nose. The setup is the key.

As for cross stepping - practice on a balance beam and progress to a balance board. Do this daily and you'll never need to think about it when you are surfing.

Just my 2c.

I've recently been working on cross walking my homemade indo board. Huge improvement in a couple weeks.

Also, under the right conditions, you can nose ride anything. I got locked in about 3 weeks ago, had 10 over on a 7'6" 60's tear drop, which is quite narrow. And I'm like 180, plus wetsuit filled with water.

Now was that intentional? Hahaha.....I just started walking up like I always do, and I could keep going this time.

Noseriding is an art, it requires speed more than anything. Once a stall comes on, you're more than likely going to ENDO. Best correction is to step back and try to regain speed, then re-attempt to reach the nose and hang.

Great advice from the other posters.
