I have bought a 2nd hand Tombstone board 9'3". With a beach beat fin. My old lady is harping on about buying me something for my bday for surfing. I was looking on ebay the other day and saw a fin 9" longboard fin "squirell" honeycombe. Is that any good? What would be a good fin?

i dont know alot about fins, but i think a "squirell" fin is good for stability and noes riding which would be good, but i would get a 2nd opinion as im not to sure.
if it is for noes riding, and you want to get into high perfonmance later on keep it because its always good to have a big stable fin hanging around for those small days. hope it all goes well.

I personally like the 9.5 turbo tunnel. Alot of people talk bad about it but it seems to work well for me. You will probably have to try a couple of fins before finding the right one. Keep trying ebay you can usually find a good deal on there. Take it easy and good luck.

I never really noticed that. I put it on my 9'2" today in some mushy surf and caught some pretty decent waves. It handled real well on my board so I am looking forward to it in some clean surf. Well good luck to you and hope the fin works well.

Opionions are like A$$holes everyone has one. The guy in the shop probably heard from someone who heard it from someone else. I have had good experiences with the TT as far as stability, going left, right, ect. Just give it a shot what do have to lose.

I've never tried a turbo tunnel, and also have heard great multitudes of people trash them. Probably people thats never even tried one. I did meet one old school longboarder that uses them, and said they are great. His only complaint was they didn't make an 11" version.
