Surfing Waves

Im looking for a traditional longboard and was wondering if anyone has riden or heard of tom wegener boards?

I really want a board that i can pivot turn and do alot of footwork on.... am I heading in the right direction? If not can someone point me in the direction of a board? Something nice and heavy and wide.
