Surfing Waves

Hi guys. I'm looking at this board, surf tech version.
I currently use a 9.3 77L in the pink, which I love.
I'm considering this Walden, which has similar dimensions (23x3), and 80L.
Anyone knows if they are very different boards? Or kind of the same thing?
I like versatile boards that are light, with some volume, good for some nose riding, but quick to turn as well. Single fin is my preference.

My 2 cents:

I hate the In-the-Pink model with a passion. ( and I hate it even more that some people recommend it for beginners )

I love the Walden Magic model. I have used it in long board surf competitions. Board is good off the tail and the nose.

I rented a magic when I was at the beach without a board. Was so good I tried to buy it off the guy later that week.

I have the mega magic 9'0. It's a beast. Super easy to paddle, catches anything and almost feels like cheating.
The cons are (for me) It's a bugger to carry any distance due to its width and thickness. Steep narrow steps down to some beaches are a no no.

I have had both those boards - they are utter utter utter utter chalk and cheese!

the 9'3" In The Pink is a pig to paddle unless you have a really nice flat shoulder to paddle out on so it's ok on a good, consistent point break where you can paddle round but can be tough to get any speed up to get into certain waves where it momentarily goes into deeper water and/or flattens off or not very steep/consistent waves.
To put it bluntly, if you're thinking of paddling this out in 5' slop, onshore wind, whitewater you will be paddling forever and you will hate this board.
It nose rides well though as the concave keeps the front up high.

The Walden Mega Magic 9'6" for me was a bit too big, I'm 5'10" and weigh 185 lbs, I found it a tad sluggish to turn and a nads cumbersome to get it to be 'musical' in the water.
The 9' however is another story - easy to throw around, paddles like a motorboat, gets into virtually any wave, is amazingly forgiving,
also the Tuff Lite is stronger than the SLX version I had and is also pulled in a little more in the nose, so turns really well as it gets less caught up on the front end.
I cannot recommend the 9' Walden Mega Magic highly enough - my favourite ever board.....but that's for me!
